Contemporary Addition ∙ Fairfax, Virginia
The proximity and angle of the site's setback line prevented us from enclosing a new garage below. However, following the angle of the setback, the addition makes use of the angle and maximizes space.
By creating a small recess, or visual break, between the old and new, the addition is allowed to have its own character and stands apart. Although we are defining the exterior look of the addition as contemporary, our main goal is to create a dynamic space within that works well and maximizes the best use of space and natural light, regardless of style.
